AP-P5 Associating Polymer Flooding Agent



With the funding of national key research programs sub-project “Technology of Improving Recovery in Oil Fields of High-Temperature and High-Salt”, AP-P5 is originally developed to solve the exploration problems of high temperature & high salinity, high water content and heterogeneity reservoirs.

AP-P5offers the following advantages

Solution can be prepared with oilfield produced water with high flooding effect. It would enhance the oil recovery by 15% - 20%OOIP, or even higher.

Existing polymer flooding equipment for HPAM can be adopted for AP-P5 without major modifications.

AP-P5 solution could form space grid structure, thus it could perform better temperature resistance, salt tolerance and aging stability than other HPAM products in the market. It is applicable for high hardness water where the Ca2+ and Mg2+ concentration is bellow 1000mg/L.

High Resistance Coefficient and high Residual Resistance Coefficient could be achieved under high temperature, high salinity and high water content conditions.

AP-P5, with its typical characteristics of hydrophobic associating polymer, shows better profile modification and plugging performance than ordinary polymer.

AP-P5 is cost-efficient because of its little consumption: the dosage of AP-P5 as oil flooding agent is 0.1% - 0.2%, and the dosage of AP-P5 in profile modification operations is 0.2% - 0.5%

Field Cases

The applied field conditions: average permeability (1000md), viscosity of the underground crude oil (60 - 150mPa•s), reservoir temperature (85°C), salinity of injection polymer water (32000mg/L, including the 800mg/L of Ca2+ and Mg2+).

The field application showed that AP-P5 performed well by field injection and met the standard for temperature resistance, salinity tolerance and produced water adaptability.
